In line with the policy of the majority of lamp manufacturers,
a visible WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment regulations) recycling charge will apply to the purchase of all
fluorescent lamps (including low energy lamps, compact fluorescents and low energy GU10's) and discharge lamps (SON, SOX,
MBF and metal halide) effective 1st July 2007. This charge has been set by the lamp manufacturers at 15p per unit (+
VAT) and will be passed on. The fee is set by the manufacturers of the lamps to allow
for recycling of potentially hazardous lamps in an environmentally friendly way. In practical terms householders/consumers
should recycle WEEE at the local recycling centre. Details of locations are available on www.recycle-more.co.uk. As members of the DTS (distributor take back scheme) we have made a financial
contribution to the recycling process, but we will not be providing in-store take back. Business customers on purchase of 1 for 1, like for like EEE (electrical and electronic equipment) should
contact the manufacturer of the replacement EEE for guidance and details on recycling. Please note: We
are not obligated to collect, transport or store items for recycling. Collection and transport of WEEE to a designated
recycling centre, if considered safe and commercially viable, will incur an additional charge. Storage of WEEE
is not a service we can offer.
